Silanes for Adhesives

Organofunctional silanes are hybrid compounds that combine the functionality of a reactive organic group with the inorganic functionality of an alkyl silicate in a single molecule. This particular characteristic makes them suitable as molecular bridges between inorganic materials and organic polymers.

General advantages of the silanes:

  • Improve the wet and dry adhesion to various substrates
  • By preventing the premature drying improving the storage stability
  • In moisture-crosslinking adhesive systems
  • Increase in chemical resistance
  • Improve the physical / mechanical properties of filler formulations
